The Quran... i have it and i tried reading it but never felt the josh to plunge in it beyond 60 pages so far :(

Science books - Bill Bryson's A Short history of nearly everything - some day i will read and understand this book

4) Somewhere you’d never thought to go on holiday/vacation, and why it might be fun to go there?
I can never imagine myself having a holiday in a forest camp especially night stay in tent or guest house... Fun would be to watch animals having a walk during early morning... But would i be alive to enjoy it @#$%?

5) A specific food you’ve never tried, but will because of this meme, honest!
I guess not applicable for me - if cooking., as i know only to make a coffee !!! if eating - any highly onion based food !


6) A sport or game you really hate, or haven’t tried yet, but are willing to give one more go:
Chess i suppose. I am very keen to play any sport which involves some body movement - chess sitting in a arm chair - no way and not my cup of tea !!!

7) A style of dance you probably won’t try (we won’t make you promise on this one):

I am fascinated by dance in general. I do try some kuthu dance when i get some opportunity. I am scared of trying Salsa and leaving my partner down on the floor :(

8 ) A career job you don’t feel you’re suited for, and why:
Ph.D types... i hate study. I am more of "do it now" types rather than "read it or define it"

9) What is it that you will dare to wear which you have never worn before?
Ada poppa.... Men get only Trouser, Shirt, Suit, pyjama/kurta... Idhu ellam oru variety-a? I am highly jealous about girls dressing... Hmmm... Not in this birth :(

10) If there’s one thing in life you wanted to do, and will do because of this meme, what will it be?
I promise to do some work-outs or regular exercise. Me getting old and scared about visiting doctor :(

DMK snaps ties with PMK

Five reasons why PMK is out of DMK in Tamil Nadu

1. DMK chief Karunanidhi became very busy in answering the allegations of PMK Ramadoss than the opposition leader Jayalalitha

2. DMK feels that PMK leaked the telephone tapping issue to public

3. PMK stopped the satellite township project

4. PMK gave a thumbs down ranking to DMK government recently

5. Most importantly, when so many crores of people - alliance parties, news papers, poets / writers, Film fraternity and people who received the Color TV are greeting the DMK chief - PMK was the odd man out in blasting the DMK. After all, DMK chief does not have time to listen to adverse comments amidst kakka kootam. His diary is full of "Parattu Vizha" appointments.

So What Next?

I dont think, some political re-alignment would happen in hurry - highly unlikely for the upcoming lok sabha election in early 2009. After all, who would hurry to join hands with Camouflage?

Tale of Lap-top Strolley Bag purchase

My friend wanted to buy a strolley bag to keep up comfort with his frequent travel tours. He wanted a qualified person's company (I was the one !!!) to help in selection.

Our journey started in Spencer Plaza in Mount Road. We went close to 10 shops and figured out the availability. VIP, Lycarllopolo, Samsonite are some of the models we browsed across.The prices were ranging from Rs.2500 to Rs.9000 in each shop without any pattern !!!

Finally, we bargained and bought a Lycarllopolo bag for Rs.2000/= which was initially quoted as Rs.3000/= to Rs.3400/=

I believe the same bag / brand is sold in Bangalore Forum Mall for Rs.4500/=. I could not see this brand in Ebay or Rediff sites when I searched today. I saw some offers for Rs.6500 for APC laptop bags.

The moot point from this entire episode is what could be the ideal price for this bag? Can anyone tell from their experience? I believe the same bag / brand is sold in Bangalore Forum Mall for Rs.4500/=. It is a sorry state of affairs as some one imports from somewhere and sell it at their will or at their margin and we don't have any control or
idea of the reasonable price L

Dasavatharam review – Reaction to Movie

One Line Story of Kamalhassan's magnus opus - Dasavatharam: Scientist Kamal in USA invents some new thing through Bio-technology which potentially can be a disaster to world and as one expects, the bad smells it. The chase shifts to India and it goes on and on until the virus gets destroyed.

Music: Songs have come out good. Sri Devi Prasad carried out a decent job for background score.

Photography: Mostly Lovely. But some crane or steady-cam shots are excessively used.

Editing and Art work: Too good.

Dialogue: Some one-liners are outstanding. The interaction between Kamal & Asin are lovely especially the arguments on the topic whether god is there or not. Rao's comedy and Poovaragan's support for earth comes next.

Fight Sequence: Impressive and matching the Hollywood standards. Especially Tsunami re-creation is mind-boggling.

Make-Up: Too plastic.

Computer graphic work: Highly, wondefully impressive. Kudos to this team – they made the dream a reality.

Other Actors: Asin has some maximum screen space. She is natural but her dubbing in couple of instances goes "too scratchy or screamy"; Nothing much for others. Scientist Vinayak is impressive in his brief role. Mallika offers some oomph and nothing beyond that.

Kamal's ten roles: Kamal sparkles as Intelligence officer Naidu, witty to the core. Telegu accent is too good to believe. Kamal as Poovaragan has got lot of punchy lines and makes one think of global warming. Kamal as Govind is mostly lost in good versus evil chase and comes out alive only during the arguments with Asin. Kamal as Fletcher is a terminator. Kamal is very enthusiastic as George Bush. One does not see Kamal in Patti and Japanese Samurai. Kamal is a letdown as the tall Muslim and Singer. My preference goes for the 12^th century Priest Kamal – As Rangarajan and he sets the tone impressively for the rest of the movie.

It is amazing how the Kamal established as a versatile actor. His body language in each and every character is totally different and impressive. His differentiation in dialogue delivery, accent, and presentation in ten different, divergent roles are truly mind blowing.

Let-down: Story should be told in a simple way finally that should be bottomline – example Thillu Mullu, Avvai Shanmugi; That doesn't happen here.

Cinema is escapism and Heroism is what any average individual identifies himself with. Unfortunately, Scientist Kamal's as savior character is difficult to go with.

Secondly, the virus cannot be described and thirdly too many over make-up kamal's makes the appearances throughout the movie.

Advice: Don't miss the beginning and ending of the movie.

Direction: K S Ravikumar has done an enviable job. He managed to produce a far better product when compared to Sivaji.
Producer: Money well spent !!!

Final Remarks: If one is ardent movie fan, don't even think of missing this movie and watch it only in theatre. After all, the efforts are truly mesmerizing and spectacular to ignore.
