Abt Q2 - 2009 Result
Q2 results are coming out in full swing. Sales has increased bwn 4-6%, net profit has increased by 13-17% so far.
It is neither giving great comfort nor pushing the analysts into confusion. It can be read as "flat" as the stock prices raised significantly over past 6 months.
Pharma, IT, Auto, PSU bank sector stocks have managed to beat the street expectatations broadly when compared to other sectors.
Indiaearnings.com's quality of updation of result flow failed miserably this quarter. Example some 150 companies have given their result today and you look at the site... hardly 50 updates so far. They better do something productive.

Meaningful Lyrics?
I got lot of comments on some of the recent songs. Whether the song was good, whether it was worth the time spent in publishing the lyrics in blog, why such crap songs come in first place etc...
Let me try to take a view on this topic:
Our movie, music industry is some some 80 year old. So many songs, tunes have come out, probably in millions of numbers. Hence, there is nothing which can be claimed as "unsaid", "brand new", "highly creative", "never before" etc.
If you take Hindi, Tamil, or Telugu most of the songs recycle the words - the lyricists cover some 300-800 words and make songs. There are hardly few songs which can be said as "revolutionary". Logically speaking, there is no requirement to publish the lyrics or asking for english meaning as these are like "algorithm of words"
One cannot expect any great meaning in every song they hear. One should be lucky if we are happen to hear at good lyrics in love duet or in thathuvam songs. Kuthu songs, hero intro songs are mostly meaningless and rhythm oriented.
To end the serious write on fun., Vairamuthu once was getting ridiculed for the algorithm logic. I illustrate that below but no offence meant to any lyricists:
To quote an example.,
Colomn 1 has words like Raaja, deva, raathiri, pesiya, azhagu, boogambam
Colomn 2 has words like Mullai, idhazh, roja, maan, jeevan, boogambam, minnal
Colomn 3 has words like Kaathirukku, poothirukku, paathirukku, vizhithirukku, sethirukku, sirichirukku, pozhinjirukku and verthirukku
For example,
Azhagu minnal kaathirukku
Deva mullai sirichirukku
Pesiya jeevan paathirukku
Raaja idhazh verthirukku
How is it?

I like twitter
Folks.,
I have become a big fan of twitter more than facebook over the past 3-4 months. Twitter is simple - add friends, interact, tweet and respond. No stupid small applications come along with that.
I am not a gaming guy, i love to interact with people and Twitter is clearly making that aspect very easy. I was bit thrilled when some celebrities replied to my tweet - i must admit.
If you have not tried it out - GO FOR IT !!! You are missing something in life :)

Nifty at crossroads
Nifty is seemingly at crossroads. Most of the sectors barring Oil, Refinery, Power have moved up and no one is clear which sector would take the Nifty to 5500 levels at this point.
Q2 Results is on the way and next next 10 days would decide where the Nifty would go. Be patient is the word for intra day traders as Stop Loss is getting regularly triggered over past 5 days.
Pause is the buzz word now than Push !

Songs which travels different genres
I am going to list some 3 songs which travels different genres within the 5 min seemlessly and makes the listening very very interesting...
1. Siriya Paravai from Andha Oru Nimidam; Music By Ilayaraja
URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_KFfFVDRuE
What a beautiful lyrics by Vairamuthu in this song... & dont miss SPB's laugh. So addictive.
2. Ooh La La La from Minsara Kanavu; Music By A R Rahman
URL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHnwbugWG7g
I believe that Vairamuthu did not liked the idea of the Oh lalala song and both Rahman and Rajeev Menon went to the poet's home to convince him.
3. Buck Buck Buck Maada Pura from Paarthiban Kanavu; Music by Vidyasagar
URL : http://www.raaga.com/channels/tamil/moviedetail.asp?mid=T0000482
Vidyasagar started with B & W period music for this song and moved to modern music. Good work and different singing pattern made this attempt fruitful.
By the way, let me know if there is any similar attempt by any other musicians.
