IFMR Alumini - Estuaire 09 meet was held on Saturday 12th Sep, 7pm.

I went with lot of hopes that i will meet some of batch mates, college mates. It was not meant to be !!!! None from my batch came, or the so called seniors were hardly some 10-14.

As usual, the recent batches were in full strength. The function was simple and oraganised well, managed well. Fine job folks.

Jet Pilots Strike

Jet Pilots strike is not good for the ailing industry. Lot of inconvenience to passenges and other airlines increased the fares to some 18k from 7k is also another issue.

As usual, government is very slow in reacting. Jet is one of the quality brand of India, and it is sad to see them suffering !

Sensex outlook - Sep 2009

Scores of TV analysts failed by predicting a 10% - 15% correction in August which never materialised.

Sensex is unlikely to fall until November according to me and it can touch 17500 levels and 15200 can be a support. Shareholders of IOC, BPCL, HPCL should come out slowly in this rally as there are no reform plans proposed by government.

My dark horse pick is paper stocks like Rama news, tnpl, sesh paper, dishman, tvs motor which can surprise over next three months.

I have always wondered how lucky pakistan as a country. reasons are as follows:

1. Pak keep getting billions of foreign funds, imf funds etc despite concerns on diversion, deployment etc...
2. How savvy their marketing skills are - I feel Musharaff was damn good in that but new government also came up with "non state actor" and stumped everyone.
3. US Government could not anything serious on A Q Khan
4. Pak, US army relations remained strong especially in defence cooperation,acquiring new weapons.
5. Pakistan is the third largest exporter of rice in the world after Thailand and Vietnam.
6. Their leaders live in foreign country, they come and rule the country and they go back once they lose power !!!
