Impact of Kuthu Songs

Impact of Kuthu Songs

Our TV had conducted a recent study on 4000 people across the people between the age of 10 to 40 on the impact of kuthu songs. We found out, the youth wanted to dance to the kuthu songs in their homes, theatres etc. Where as, the age group of 30 to 40 was little bit different. They were not very appreciative of the music and they claimed they had no choice but to listen and dance to kuthu songs. Every tamil movie dumps people with atleast 3 kuthu songs and teases the listeners over the last 10 years.

People are shying away from emotions as numerous sacrifice, emotional calls given by Mr.Karunanidhi getting ignored by dancing folks.

  1. The impact is far more disastrous. I've been posted in Mauritius for a period of over 6 months for an official business. I used to watch the MBC (Mauritius Broadcasting Company) TV channel when I am at home.

People there celebrate each and every festival of their religion or region. That is Tamil native people would celebrate festivals like "Tamil Puthandu", "Kavadi Thiruvizha" etc., and Telugu native would celebrate "Ugadi" and so on.

They organize cultural programs as a part of these festivals. They dance, sing etc. Now comes the trouble. I was shocked and ashamed for the damage that the film industry has caused to the culture.

Dance program by "Phoenix Tamil Sangam".
    Category : Folk dance.
And the song they danced for was "Appa Amma Velayatta velayadi pappoma..."!
