I came with a begging bowl to you, dear god

You have all the treasure
where will i go with begging bowl
You have all the treasure
where will i go with begging bowl
I just have a bowl
but you have all the formula

oru muraya iru muraya
pala murai pala pirapp-edukka vaithaai
pudhu vinaya pazha vinaya
kanam kanam dhinam enai thudikka vaithaai
porulukku alaidhidum porulatra vaazhkaiyum thurathudhey
un arul arul arul endru alaigindra manam indru pidhatrudhey

once or twice
but many times you made us to re-born
new curse or old curse
you made us to suffer all the time all the day
this meaningless life chases all goods in kind
the mind which want your blessings is blabbering

arul vizhiyal nokkuvai
malar padhathal thaanguvai
un thirukaram enai aravanaith-unadho-arul pera

you look through your kind eyes
you hold us with your soft feet
to embrace us with your blessed hand and bless us

Pichai paathiram yendhi vandhen ayyane en ayyane
pindam ennum elombodu sadhai narambu-udhiramum adangiya udambu ennum
Pichai paathiram yendhi vandhen ayyane en ayyane

I came with a begging bowl to you, dear god
this body (which will be finally taken by you) is covered with bones, nerves, skin and blood
I came with a begging bowl to you, dear god

  2. You are missing an important interpretation here...

pindam ennum elombodu sadhai narambu-udhiramum adangiya udambu ennum
    Pichai paathiram
    yendhi vandhen

The "pichai pathiram" mentioned here is the body...

  11. Hi Nice translation
but i feel this song has more deeper meaning ,than the poetic expression of longing to reach god and suffering out of this human birth
he has also explained lots of spiritual truths in this song

i feel illayaraja is a gr8 saint if he has written this out of realisation
