Finally, Cyclone Nisha managed to paralyse Tamil Nadu and brought activities to standstill. Heavy rain started around last saturday in Tanjore, Karakal, Cuddalore spread to Rameswaram, Chennai around Tuesday.
Average of 43cms rainfall received across Tamil Nadu over 5 days left heavy damage to crops in cauvery delta. In Chennai, all the lakes were overflowing, hence, the authorities decided to flush of excess water.
This move drowned areas like Virugambakkam, Vadapalani, Saidapet. Premium areas like Boat Club, Alwarpet, CP Ramasamy road were flooded heavily. Madipakkam, Velachery, Ram Nagar continue to usual victims in this rain too. People were forced to stay inside homes to flush out excess water and normal life got completely paralysed on Nov 27, 29.
Hopeless infrastructure got exposed "n" time. Let us want and see how things would improve from here !
